I was officially back to work yesterday. It's a lot harder than I had anticipated. I had gotten used to being able to visit my little miracle on a whim when I wanted to see him. Now I only am able to visit once a day, after 7:30pm when the NICU opens back up for the evening. It's so depressing...
Thankfully, Jeremy is available to go visit him during the day. Today was a difficult day for him though. Sidney was having episodes of Bradycardia and Apnea - where his heartbeat and oxygen levels drop drastically. It was especially hard on Jeremy to see his little angel be worked on - they had to "bag" Sidney (manually pump oxygen into his lungs to revive him). It's enormously trying on a parent of a micro-preemie. It's a constant struggle just to remain sane each day. But we know that we have to keep it together for him. Sidney is our world and we would give up everything just to be able to bring home our healthy baby boy.
I know it sucks to be at work right now. (You KNOW I know how much... I just now finished up most of what I wanted to get done today.) But we sure are glad to have you back. Thank you, Sid, for sharing your mom with us! :D We need her too!
